Welcome, Cadet!
The Space Cadets, formed on Earth, are basically The Boy Scouts in
space. Only boys are allowed entrance, and not until age 8. The Cadets,
although not officially part of the military, are trained in basic
combat and usage of laser guns. They are never used by the government
as soldiers, however, it is quite common for graduating cadets (age 18)
to join the military afterward. Primarily, the cadets are used for
exploration.
DRESS
CODE
Space Cadet uniforms were designed to look
like early Boy Scout uniforms and are required to be worn during all
active duties. Every cadet is required to wear a white t-shirt with the
"US Cadet" logo and a pair of shorts which vary in color dependant on
the Cadet's rank. Uniforms must be kept clean and well ironed and the
shirts must be tucked in at all time.
In addition, Cadets must wear the standard black shoes and white
socks as well as their utility belts. All Cadets are issued one laser
gun and a communication device that can be worm on an arm.
Hats, sunglasses, and jewelry are generally not allowed. Piercings
and tattoos are strictly forbidden. Hair may not extend beyond the
shoulders.
RANKS
BLUE: This
is for Cadets in Training, who remain on Earth and do not leave the
surface until fully ready. Generally, these cadets are under 11.
RED: The
most common rank seen in action. Any Cadet who passes his training on
earth will be given the Red Rank and allowed a position on an
exploration ship. Only Red Ranked and higher are issued guns.
GOLD: This
is the highest rank a cadet may earn. Only by proving himself worthy of
such a title (or by having rich and influential parents) will a cadet
be allowed to wear the yellow trousers. For every 20 Red-Ranked Cadets,
only about 1 will earn the Gold status.
