Alvin's town was attacked by the mutant bugs.  Though all of his friends were devoured, Alvin was taken captive.  The crazed scientist, Dr. Pangleross, gave Alvin super powers using bug DNA.

 

Now with super powers, Alvin fights the boy-eating bugs and other dangerous creatures that threaten his peers.
