My website is perfectly fine but over the last 3-4 days the databases (forums - LiD and DtD) have been really slow. I am working on it. I am currently talking to some idiots at "tech support".

Possible your database is to big and dirty, and you need to clean and compress it.

Apparently, the issue is my host is cramming too many databases on a single server, so both LiD and the DtD forum are suffering as a result.

If it comes to it, I can move the database to another server, but that can be a lot of stressful work.

However, it seems MUCH better today though. Is anyone still having issues?

Seems fine to me. I've been off-line with a sick MacBook for about two weeks so I have nothing to compare it with.

It shouldn't have taken two weeks, but with the time of year (holidays & basketball) and the weather conspiring to keep me from making the long drive (30 miles), plus the apprehension of them saying 'it's ::shock:: toast' you need to buy a new one, so I kept putting it off. I'm wondering if I can get it fixed for less than $300 ::!:: ::?::

It was out of warranty (by a few years) and not on a service plan. So I took it in to the Apple Store…

They found I had some loose ram, :$ they swapped in a new one — $0, but when they tried to re-install Mac OS X they found the hard drive had gone bad. :(

They put in a new one — $0.

And the case was cracking in a couple of spots.

They put on a new one — $0.

I hadn't noticed any difference, then again I was kinda away from my computer - not a computer, just the one with my bookmarks.
