Trivia

This comic introduces Samhain who will show up, or at least be referenced in, many future comics.

Samhain is the Dark Lord of Halloween.

The comic's title was inspired by the song "Rain on the Scarecrow" which has "blood on the scarecrow" in its lyrics.

While the song has nothing to do with Halloween, its strong emotional tone and dark story helped me when I worked on this project.

"Blood on a Scarecrow" is the poorest-selling comic from the early Phase 3 period (2012-2014).

Truth be told, it probably is one of my simpler comics, but it does offer a lot of nice visuals, especially for the Halloween season.

Three wishes are granted by Samhain.

The farm boy gets two wishes for his two offerings (Peter and James).

I intended to show both of the farm boy's wishes in separate comics.

His first wish, to have his teacher turned into a frog, would have been a story of the teacher turning into a monstrous frog and gobbling up her students.

This never came to fruition as a comic, but safe to say it happened and we just didn't see it.

His second wish, for Hunter to die horribly, leads to the events seen in "Choir Boys vs Zombies".

The farm boy should have shed his own blood to summon Samhain.

Samhain grants Ringo (the dog) eternal life, undead, and offers him a wish.

Ringo wants a warm meal and then feeds upon the farm boy.

"Blood on a Scarecrow" and "Trick or Eat 11" were both released at the same time and both feature Samhain.
