The underground dwellers are
collectively known as BHUDs and their patriarch is known as
LHUD.
Tristan, the only person to have been captured by BHUDs and escape, claims to have seen about 10 of the creatures: one large BHUD (which he later named LHUD) and several smaller BHUDs, likely the patriarch's children.
The monsters capture prey from the surface, drag them underground, and place them within a circle of stones. Anyone who dares to leave the circle is to be eaten. To play, the younger BHUDs enjoy scaring and tormenting their captives, hoping one or more will panic and leave the circle.
